Scenes from Italy

Jamie Eric Eisman was originally trained as a classical painter until he found his passion for photography. He began his career shooting fashion assignments, rock bands’ album covers and small products until he made a radical switch to medical imaging. He shot everything from hospital PR to surgical precedures. Later in life, he found himself broadening his work even further by shooting sports, human interest stories, and eventually taking part in a medical relief mission in Central America which led him to a career that allowed him to shoot relief efforts in third-world jungles river basins, and explore areas including Peru, the Brazilian Amazon, and Guatemala. He is still a generalist, shooting what appeals to his painter’s eye, which shows greatly in his new work that has an illustrative quality.

His new series of Italy brings a unique look at the beauty on the waters of the Venice Canals to the ruins of Pompei and other scenery throughout the Tuscany region.
